I am the happy owner of a 1985 Volvo DL Station Wagon, with a mere 186,000+ mike on the clock. However, I would like to remove the "Saginaw" type power steering system and replace it with a manual steering rack.

Has any other Volvo owner ever done this?

Where can I obtain a used Manual steering rack that is in excellent working condition (zero or minimal mechanical wear)?.

I would like to hear from other Volvo owners on this subject.
