I am looking for someone in Canada (or U.S.A.) who repairs speedometers. The speedometer works but the odometer stopped working this winter. Apparently there is a plastic cog that wears out.

Alternatively, perhaps someone has a used r0,585 speedometer out there?

I would just check your local yellow pages. This is a problem with many VDO speedometers (not just on Volvos) and any speedo specialist should be able to fix it.---Brian T.

There is a speedometer repair company called Ohio Valley Speedometer Service that I have used in the past for repair of exactly the problem you are having where the odometer drive gear cracks and spins on the odometer shaft w/o turning the numbers. I believe that they are located in Columbus, Ohio but I am not sure of that.(It might be Toledo) As one of the other respondents mentioned, there is likely a speedometer service company located in a large Canadian city closer to you. If they will sell you the gear, it is very simple to replace once you have the speedometer removed.
