The 544's value depends on some things you haven't told us. What year? What engine (B16 or B18)? Any rust? 6 or 12 volt? Here is a little guide I found on the 'net:

VOLVO Condition Condition Condition

Model Year(s) 1 to 2+ 2 to 3+ 3 to 4+

121/122/122S 1956-67 $ 5425 $ 3100 $ 1162

122S B18 1962-67 $ 5812 $ 3875 $ 1550

123GT 1967-68 $ 5425 $ 3100 $ 1162

131/132 1961-69 $ 4650 $ 1550 $ 775

142 1970-74 $ 1937 $ 1162 $ 542

144 1967-75 $ 1550 $ 775 $ 387

164 1968-74 $ 3875 $ 2325 $ 1162

240 Turbo 1981-83 $ 3875 $ 2712 $ 1550

242 1975-78 $ 3100 $ 1937 $ 1007

242GT 1978-80 $ 3487 $ 2325 $ 1162

244 1975-82 $ 2712 $ 1550 $ 775

262C 1978-81 $ 4262 $ 3100 $ 1937

264 1975-82 $ 2867 $ 1782 $ 929

P1800/1800S 1961-69 $ 7750 $ 5425 $ 2325

P1800E 1969-72 $ 6200 $ 3875 $ 1550

P1800ES 1972-73 $ 6975 $ 4650 $ 1937

PV544 1959-65 $ 7362 $ 5037 $ 2712

Condition 1 to 2+ Tend to be in excellent all-round condition, but not necessarily concours winners - which may well be able to command and fetch more.

Condition 2 to 3+ Those that are sound and can be used immediately, but might benefit from some cosmetic attention.

Condition 3 to 4+ Complete and running but almost certainly require major restorative work ('restoration projects' deserving of 4 and 5 ratings may be bought for less still).

Finding someone that will pay the prices noted above is another story. I just bought a '61 544 with a B18 and converted to 12 volts. It is completely rust free, but needs mechanical work. I paid $2500 for it.

Hope this helps.
