It's NOT the pads, it's the pins. They're loose in the carrier. The basic test is kick the tire (no pun intended). If you hear that same rattle you heard going down the road then you'll hear it again. Kick a few times just to be sure. I quieted mine for a few days after using anti-sieze on the pins. Of course it reoccurred. same old stuff.
