I've seen 544s with A/C, but I doubt you'd find any kits now, unless it was one of the generic hotrod setups, which aren't bad. You'd have to make a bracket for the compressor.
6 to 12 volt convesion is relatively easy. The only tricky parts are the fuel gage, the wipers, and the blower for the heater. If you can get the 12V parts from a later car, you've got it made; otherwise:
The wiper motor is the same as a 145/245 rear window wiper motor.
You can put a 6V Zener diode between the fuel gage and sender[reverse baised, of course].
Adapt some American blower motor; mine says Rochester.

Unless you're some kind of crank like me, you should get one of the available Delco alternator conversions.
You'll be amazed how well the starter works on 12V.
I'm so tired of breaking off keys that I use a generic ignition switch and coil in all my PVs[B-18/20s can use '75 240 electronic ignition].

Perry, Since the wiper motor is the same as the 245 rear window wiper motor I have a spare I never used and if ya need it just holler! It's just the motor not the linkage but it does work!

Stoney, Is the rear 245 wiper motor the same as the 544, 122, or both? This is a great piece of info. ---Brian T.

Acccording to Jim McDonalds post "The wiper motor is the same as a 145/245 rear window wiper motor." which if true would mean that the tailgate wiper motor I have might work. But I'm not a 544/122 Maven (mea culpa), so I don't know fer sure.

Would Mr. McDonald please correct, illuminate, or tell us if we are too into this shiess!

If it can be swapped, yer welcome to it!

The 145/245 tailgate wiper motor is a bolt-on replacement for the 444/544[not 122 or 1800] electric windshield wiper motor.Of course, they're all 12V. There are some detail improvements, as you would expect for a 30+ year production run.
