Brake advice (Ed Lipe, perhaps?)[ALL/1998] posted by Gilbert Kirk on

I've been watching the exchange between Ed and Chita about brakes and muriatic acid. I've got a 1980 GLE with sticking front calipers. In the past, I've looked unsuccessfully for caliper piston pulling pliers, the kind with 90 degree angled jaws and outside knurled surfaces to get inside the cups of pistons on calipers such as the ATE/Girlings whioch Volvo uses in order to wiggle them back and forth, while pulling in order to extract them. Would you know where to get these Ed? Snap-On and Mac , as well as Sears and a bunch of other conventional sources don't have 'em. Also, would the muriatic acid be a good choice to clean up the rusted area of the caliper prior to rebuilding? Does it work on rusted-together pipes of exhaust systems? TIA for all assistance.
