'89 740 idle vibration[ALL/1998] posted by Jim Ray on

Car is a wagon with a turbo - 106,000 miles. Good shape otherwise. Love the car.

I have slight to moderate vibration at idle, more so in gear than out of gear. If I run rpm's up a bit (to 900 - 1000) it smooths out some. No vibration at all when rolling.

Dealer tles me I need new engine motor mounts. Claims that the motor mounts are liquid filled and eventually harden causing slight vibration at idlle.

Dealer also stated there is no saftey hazard.

Cost to repair is over $300, any thoughts?
