Do coilovers exist for 240 wagon.??[ALL/1998] posted by bn on

I was wondering if coilovers (shocks with built on spring around it) are available for volvo wagons. specifically, I have a 1980 volvo wagon that I would like to put them on. I have put them on a chevy nova and they provide extra lift while providing a better cushioned ride and avoiding replacement of old coil or leaf springs.

I have tried monroe, but they don't seem to carry them. Does anyone know of any other places that I might try? thanks

Hi BN: You may purchase a set of generic bolt/clamp on, over-laod spring kits from most parts houses or mail order suppliers. J.C. Whitney has had them since Moby Dick was a minnow! I've done this several times over the last years with excellent luck. Another alternative would be a set of air shocks. 'Done this too. A twelve dollar in-line air guage allows you to visually monitor the of pressure/stiffness index .

Good luck. :) Jim
