I'ld love to get some feedback from any owners of 855 T-5 "R" wagons or sedans regarding overall ride comfort with the "R" tire/wheel combination. Are the 17" rims impossible to keep unmarred from potholes, railroad tracks and curbs?

I'm considering "upgrading" my '94 855 Turbo wagon from the optional 16" factory 5 spokers to a set of the "R" wheels and tires. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated before I make any costly mistakes.
