Two other ways to take the windowcrank and doorhandle off:

1. Use a special tool to push the "omega" clip off, from the "open" side of the "omega". The tool should be a flat piece of metal (about the thickness of the "omega" clip and no sharp edges) with a "U" shaped notch, same width as the omega pin and an offset handle. Each side of the "U" should also be nothched in a "V" shape to spread the "omega" clip apart as it is pushed off. You can probably make one, or even buy one (I picked one up, with a couple of different "U" sizes at a swap meet for about $5 a few years ago. It seems to me that the smaller size fits Chevy; the slightly larger one fits my '61 Amazon (120), which ought to be the same as your 1800. Sorry, I don't know the sizes, but I can measure it later, if you need it.)

2. What I used to do: Push in on the doorcover and pull out on the handle so that you can see the "omega" clip. Facing the "open" side of the clip (like the bottom of the greek letter), poke a screwdriver in on one side of the and push, then on the other side and push. The one serious drawback to this method is that the clip sometimes flies quite a ways when it finally comes off.

As for rotors, my brother Karl probably has a pair that can be resurfaced. Let me know if you're interested (He doesn't have email).

Good Luck!

The others seem to have flogged the window crank issue sufficiently. I purchased a pair of brake rotors new from Volvo a few years ago. They were not too expensive, and they included the hubs and bearing races. In the U.S., call Boston Volvo, 1-800-336-2355. -Glenn.
