I have had multiple problems fixing the micro switch on my car.
Does anybody know what the real solution is. Seems VOLVO is
giving me the run-around and so far my car has been in 7 times for
the same problem. Does anybody have this problem. I found 4 others
so far and am looknng to see how many more of us are out there,

I dont know what car you have, but you could have an ignition switch
problem.
If you have the probem with the micro switch again, check if there is
power on the solenoid.
at times it had been found, that micro switches where installed wrong.
Volvo had a problem with micro switches, but about 95 % of the cars
that i know about, where fixt.
the other 5 % is wrong installation.
Maybe the new cable conection is not done right.

Thanks for the response. But so far Volvo has given me the royal shaft.
They changed the micro switch 5 times and they told me they changed the whole mechanism (whatever that is) two times.
They told me they sent field technicians to Bay Ridge to see that it was done right. Do I believe any of this...NO...
They tell me I am an exception and they do not know what is wrong, then on the next day they say they know how to fix it.
I am so fed up I am looking to dump the car. Volvo to me has been less than upstanding.
