1985 740 GLE am thinking of changing the O2 sensor. Are there any tricks I should be aware of? Any shortcuts fellow brickheads can turn me on to ?

Also how ough is it to replace motor mounts B230F engine in an 85 740 GLE ?

What would be the step by steps ? I'm average mechancial ability with no fancy tools.

The O2 sensor is not difficult to change. Its pretty straight forward. Just unscrew the old one and install the new one (and reconnect the wires). One question.... why? Volvo does not recommend periodic replacement of the sensor.

Motor mounts. They are not difficult but supporting/lifting the motor can be if you don't have the right equipment (floor jack and jack stands minimum). You can do some expensive damage if something were to "go wrong". Be careful if you try this yourself. You may need to remove the lower mount bracket (the one which bolts the mount to the subframe) with the motor mount. It can be next to impossible removing the lower nut with the bracket in place.

Check your O2 sensor first. Use a high impedence volt meter. It should wander around .5 volts. Then move from .2 to .9 volts as you tweak the throttle a little. To remove you may need to buy a deep socket and grind a slot in the side to accomodate the wire. (Snapon makes one for $35).
