Ok, strange title but here gos! I have an '86 740T 4dr with a manual trans. Soe
of you all have read my postings. My delay omes about during the cold weather
when the key is turned to the on position, Not start. There is a delay of
several seconds before the idiot lights come on. The car will start fine. I
hear a relay click on when the lights go on. Any suggestions on the many relays
down there. I have the factory manuals and have checked the diagrams. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. BTW, Merry Christmas, Happy New year etc etc.

It's possible the electrical portion of your ignition switch is going bad. Try wiggling your key in the switch when this problem occurs, and you may find that it fixes the problem, albeit, temporarily. You will need to replace it to fix it permanently. Good Luck

Yeah, the ignition switch is fairly common, especially if you carry about 60 keys on your keychain. You may need to have a voltage drop test done on the battery cables/terminals and the 15 circuit wiring.
