How Do I know what year B-20 I have[ALL/1998] posted by Thom Geer on

I have a 68 1800S with a B-20, obviously non original engine taken from a FI car, currently has twin SU's. I was wondering how I can determine which cam and engine I currently have. I was also interested in Cam specs if anyone has any available. I drove the 1800 for the first time in about a month on Sunday and it is a lot more enjoyable than I remembered! When I parked it, it needed a Clutch adjustment. After fixing that I took it out and ... had a bit of fun. Now that I have a few free moments over the holidays I wanted to check things out for future modifications and repairs. I am also looking for a reputable body shop in the cape cod area.
TIA

The only way to see what kind of cam you have is to remove it and check the markings on the shaft. If it's a Volvo original, a dealer can look up the part number for you. Otherwise, who knows?
The engine, if originally a fuel-injected model, would likely have been produced between 1970 and 1974. To narrow it down further, you'd have to bring the part number to a dealer and ask them. But I can't imagine it would make much difference. Most parts will fit all four years. -Glenn.
