Mobil 1 0W30 Oil[ALL/1998] posted by Ira Blumberg on

I just changed the oil in my wife's S70 T-5 to Mobil 1 0W30. It was a bit hard to find in the San Francisco area (I suspect it is more generally available in colder climates). This stuff is amazing, it flows almost like water. In fact if someone poured it in front of me and asked me to identify what it was, I would have guessed iced tea before oil. Nonetheless, Mobil's data claims you can use this stuff in any application where an xW30 oil is appropriate. Mobil's data also indicates that this stuff will circulate faster at startup than any other oil at any temperature. Given its thin and free flowing nature I can believe it.

On my other car which also now runs 0W30, the oil pressure gauge showed significant pressure within the first 1-2 seconds after start up, a bit faster than before the 0W30 oil.

My only real concern is whether this stuff will stay inside the engine or if it will find its way out due to its thin and slick nature. Assuming it stays in, I think this is a very good product.
