I am looking for an Australian parts genuine or non-genuine, supplier for 1976 2454DL. I live in North Queensland (1300 klm from nearest capital city). My local Volvo dealer is VERY!!! expensive or is this just Volvo genuine parts? I am specifically looking for headlamp switch (AU$53) and replacement seatbelts (AU$300 for retarcting front and AU$250 for non-retracting rear as well as AU$100 each for the buckles for rear seats). Also interested in the usual replacements: stop/indicator glass assemblies, clock, mirrors, etc.

Wowee!! You really are being gypped! I live in Melbourne, and have a fantastic (local) supplier, who also does wrecking, so I often get second hand, but good condition, parts from him for cheap. It cost me $50 for the front retracting belt (in good condition of course), I'm not sure about the back and a headlamp switch would run you about $5 or $10. You would, of course, have to get him to courier the stuff to you, but if you are interested, the place is

Try Import Advantage, Brisbane 07 33576966. They import direct, usually non-genuine but high quality stuff (all new). Great savings, sometimes 50% of genuine parts.
You might also care to talk to my local dealer. He repairs Volvos, wrecks some, and also handles new genuine and non-genuine parts. Contact Volvo One-Stop at Palmwoods (Nambour area) on 0754 421011. Eapecially good for engine spares.
You can also try these others who I have had success with:

Volvo Swedish Spares, 182 Abbotsford Rd, Bowen Hills, 07 32524397 These guys have plenty of good used parts including some imported in bulk from Europe. If you ever need an exchange motor they do a great deal (somewhere around $2100 for a B21).
