240 turn flasher[ALL/1998] posted by Alex Gruenberg on

I have a 1990 240. When I turn on the turn signals, instead of flashing, the flasher relay simply buzzes loudly. Replacing the flasher did not fix it. Any guesses?
Question 2: Where can I get COMPLETE wiring diagrams for this baby? I've heard the Robert Benchley manuals praised, but have never seen one. Do they have complete diagrams?

There are a couple of things you should check: 1) the ground for the
flasher. It is the black wire on the flasher and I believe it is grounded on
one of the screws for the dash-to-trans tunnel braces that the flasher is
clipped to. 2) the hazard switch having ozidized contacts. Operate the
hazard switch on/off repeatedly to clean. I would operate the hazard sw.
first as it is the simplest thing to do.

IT may sound too obvious, but I have seen corrosion on the turn signal
and or flasher fuse several times, cause this symptom. Replace the fuses
and try again.
