Need a Catalytic solution[ALL/1998] posted by Paul Seminara on

Most places want over $600 for a replacement catalytic converter for the
1981 262C!!! (Volvo list is over $750) This applies only to 81....other models
years have a more "universal" cat. The '81 B28F has the cat. up close and
high, smack next to the tranny. (Some 260's have it up and close, but with local flanges, not the rear flange after a bend and a few feet, as on the 1981)
Any ideas? Any less expensive sources?
Can I weld up some piping and use a diiferent, yet equivalent cat., further
downstream. Safety?
Help!!!!
