Skip - I have been there and done that(sedan)! Great fun and durable, dependable transportation. Also, get your hands on a copy of the June 1997 edition of Car and Driver (library?). There is an excellent article about Ross Converse and his Portland, ME outfit. Never thought I'd see a picture of a 740 wagon with smoke pouring out of the rear wheel well!

What about conversions other than US domestics BMW Baby Sixes maybe. I'm about tired of diesels after 15 years and need to have a game plan when this one craps out in about 10 years.
