trim parts removal for painting[ALL/1998] posted by Jim Ells on

Will someone please advise me about removing: 1) The various name plates that appear to have been glued on after painting. I'm experience with domestic stuff, but not w/volvo. It would be my luck that the Swede's use bullet-proof Epoxy or some other exotic elixer. Since the parts are as yet, undamaged, I don't wanna mess this up. Heat gun on low??? hammer & chisel??? incendiary grenade(s)??? particle acceleration generator ???
2) the trim kits around the door & side windows. There's this stainless wrap at the extreme outer edge of these puppies - with a soft seal laying right on top of the paint. It's a bad mask, so it's gonna come out. Everything else is an easy mask and/or straight ahead removal. I'd like some input before open door surgery commences. Going to paint the 262 next week. Since the car is like new, I'd like to do as much detail prep as is practical.
Thanks in advance - Jim Ells
