What can I get for the US non turbo 850 (4 valves per cyl. 168 hp stock)?
Don't see many upgrades for this engine in the US. I have free flow exhaust...but no other engine mods.

Stefan, do you now have, or are you contemplating having, an American presence for ordering and providing support for BSR products here in the USA? I know that both the pre and post purchase product support I've received from IPD has been invaluable, and for the type of products you offer, it would be important to me. Thank you.

Hey Paul,
Good to see you on this forum! You get around as much as I do {gg}. I send you an email asking you if your Nittos generated alot of noise? Someone on the net said they were so noisy (his 500z s) that you could hear their whine over the wind and even over the Radio! Just when I though I had my next tires picked out, too...Let me know.
I just read on this forum about another choice we 850 (turbo ... sorry..) owners have for performanc tuning: BSR, who has a website...Prices are more than half off IPDs, but they have no American presence that I know of...hmmm.
re tuning non turbo 850s, even this site has nothing...They do carry mods for the lo pressure glts but not for standard breathers...too bad...Have you looked into aftermarket turbochargers for your 'almost bone stock' application? I hear it can be done, but watch out for possible requirements of reinforced cylender liners, or stronger connecting rods, both of which the 850 turbos possess.

I wish you the best of luck in finding a distributor here in the USA....As you must know, right now, we are limited to 2
houses to buy performance upgrades for our 850s from: IPD, and Group6. IPD is a high quality house, but very
expensive, especially compared to your prices....Some times 2 or 3 times as high for premium performance upgrades.
But they are HERE, so if there is a problem which is not unheard of in this type of business, they have very good
customer service....

But I dont have a GLT...mine is a '95 850 Turbo, with ECU upgrade, and sport exhaust installed. Both upgrades are from
IPD, and while expensive, work excellently well.
BTW, one thing you seem to offer besides low prices, is the ability for NON Turbo owners to enhance the performance
of their bricks in a meaningful way...The companies I deal with really only carry performance upgrades for Turbo
owners. You may have an untapped market here for those folks, as well as a price advantage for the stuff for turbo
owners.

Paul - I can't speak for the Nitto 500s, but I have been running the 450 Extremes for a couple of months now and have found them very quiet in wet or dry with one exception. The previous Yoko AVS Intermediates were very quiet when I broke them loose. They would just lay rubber down, but no noise - strange sensation. However, the Nitto 450s scream like a banshee when broken loose - and they squeal perceptibly even on hard cornering.

Steve, good to see you outside of your fine VCOA digest! As you know I've been considering the 450 s for a while, just as soon as my XGTV4 s wear out, as an opportunity to get back to the 50 series size tire the car is meant to run with. All seasons are a must for me. So, its either the Nittos, or the Falken Zekes which have gotten really good reviews lately (EC, R&T, etc). Glad to hear that they're quiet most of the time...Regarding the squealing when cornered hard, I'm wondering what part the very low (35 psi) max inflation pressure is playing in not allowing you to perform a normal 3-5 lbs increase as a remedy?

I regarded the recommended pressure as too low for the 50 series tires - too much risk to the rims! I run mine around 38-40. So far, tire wear seems to be normal - if anything, the fronts may need a bit more pressure to minimize rollover on cornering. You can always chalk your tires, then drive them normally and see how far over on the sidewalls you get and adjust accordingly - just as you would for autox.

Sorry for the slow response - on Vacation!
First - tell me more about BSR 850 non turbo stuff! (Stephan - got your post I will check the website in the future. How for example do you handle the logistics of the chip sales in the US?) I am interested.
Second - Tires, - my Nitto 500's don't seem to be overly noisey. The only thing I hear when driving is my Group 6 exhaust!!!
