My beloved 1983 242 (only 70k miles) was wrecked a couple of weeks ago and declared by the insurance company to be a total loss. I was not at fault, so I got market value for the car from the other party's insurance company. I need to replace this car, and I am shopping for a 244 or 245 or a 744/745 (prefer turbo with the 74x). Flexible on color, trans type. I live in the Washington, DC area, but I could travel within a reasonable radius if I am very tempted. Thanks.

Have you contacted the Washington Volvo Club? Wish I coud give you an address, but if you contacted a certain Colin Powell in the Alexandrai area, I'll bet you could get all *kinds* of recommendations. ;-) A friend has done extensive restorative work on his '53 444.

You might try Annapolis Volvo; they usually have a good selection of used Volvos.
