Brian, I think that the SE was the designation for a limited edition of 93 240 sedans. I think they did the last batch as the Volvo Classic 240 series or something. I know a number of dealers also did local area promos with the last of the 240 series. I have seen the 93 240/245 listed as lo mileage classic and asking a $1500 premium, and I know of a pair of 93's (sedan and wagon) that were put into storage strait from the dealership. (The next "T Bird"?).

if it was, like it is presently,SE models never existed like regular models line.Volvo just give the oportunity to dealerships once a year to order one of the regular cars from its current line, with a package of the most popular options,at a package deal price, most recently an 850 GTA 'SE'was sold in Canada(optional equipment:rear spoiler, mags, fog lights, leather, traction control and volvo alarm system)the catch... just for the dealer, they have to order 50 or more cars to get the deal, great value for the customer, big sales for the dealer and Volvo, lots of money for the goverment in taxes, everybody works, everybody happy...

Judging from the experience of Mustang owners who purchased a "Dealer Special Edition" for investment purposes and later found no added value at resale time, my advice is buy it cause you like it and it drives nice! The car will probably enjoy its life as a daily dru=iver a lot more than as a museum piece.
