Back in the 30's and 40's Volvo did make a Delivery type vehicle, similar to a small panel truck. I havent heard anything but Volvo did a big deal with Mitsubishi to make engines and provide design services for the S40/C40 plant in Holland. Mitsubishi makes a number of small vans and could provide Volvo with a preset design .Who knows? Volvo has taken a number of steps recently to change their market position, I could easily see them moving into a different type of product line. The SUV amrket is glutted and there is no real Eurovan marketed in the N. American market. Renault and Puegot don't import any longer and the only Renault Eurovan I have seen in the Northeast was owned by Air France and was a diesel export model. I could not see it with a Volvo nameplate, the fit and finish were miserable and it sounded like a pocket full of loose change. I have driven the 40/400 series in Europe and consider it to be a Euro "me too" model that is sold under 3 names and is grossly underpowered and rattles around like an old Fiat 500.
