'84 Wagon Running !!RICH!![ALL/1998] posted by Rollin on

A 1984 Volvo is what it is and it's definitely a wagon. After that it's speculation, but I believe it to be a 740, a B28FT engine (definitely a four-cylinder turbo with Constant Injection). The engine is getting way too much fuel under all temperature/load conditions. In fact, the farther into the gas pedal your foot gets, the more raw fuel you can smell inside the car. I've overhauled the fuel control unit (fuel distributor) as far as the manuals say you should at shadetree level. The injectors are in pretty good shape for their 187000 miles. I cannot spot any obvious fuel leaks. I'm not sure where to go next. Ideas?
