240 DL Bra or chip shield[ALL/1998] posted by Terri on

I just purchased a 1990 240 DL. I am looking for a bra or deflector or any other item that will prevent chips from flying debris. I am also looking for an after market cup holder/arm rest. It's driving me crazy trying to balance my coffee cup while driving and there seems to be an emergency brake where the arm rest should be.

Terry, For an armrest/cupholder try http://www.spav.com/wilton/husco/ It's called the Trac Top, and provides both a sliding armrest and 2 pullout cupholders. The bra can be ordered from JC Whitney at http://www.jcwhitney.com. Though IPD http://www.ipdusa.com sells a 3" wide anti-chip paint that can be applied to the front hood surface and lite lenses to prevent chips. Bras are great but have a tendency to flap in wind when old and can scratch the paint at mounting points and where the straps rub paint. The tape can be taken off and replaced when needed. Also check out your local Auto Parts chain store, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc. for a bra unit. The armrest runs about $100 with shipping and is easy to install.
